The Impact of White Privilege on Society and Ourselves

White Privilege:  What is it? Do I have it?  What are its symptoms?

The Stand for Justice Club, in partnership with the Oakmont Democratic Club is presenting an educational forum to examine White Privilege:  How to recognize it… What to do about it.

Thursday, October 26th in the East Rec Center (click here for address) and on Zoom.   6:30 schmoozing and snacking. BYOB and a snack to share. 7:00 Program.

If you feel like you are living in a bubble where racism does not impact your life in any significant way, this is one conversation you might want to be part of. Talking about racism lessens its power and breaks our awful uncomfortable silence.  Talking about it makes it less scary and makes us more open to challenging it. We welcome the participation of all Oakmonters.  Bring your ideas, your experience, and your willingness to think outside of the box.  We can make a difference.  It will take all of us working together, white, people of color, indigenous folks, to eradicate the roots of the problems arising out of the racial inequity that surrounds us daily.  It hides all around us. The role we play in challenging or perpetuating the effects of racial injustice is our responsibility.  Each one of us has a part to play.

Come enrich the conversation on Thursday, Oct 26th.
