The California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA) was formed in 2003 in order to build a statewide network of hundreds of organizations and individuals to win social and economic justice, full civil rights, and a better, more secure future for ourselves, our families and future generations.
Representing over 1 million seniors and growing, CARA’s broad-based coalition includes senior centers, resident associations, union retirees, retired public employees, community-based organizations, and a variety of other senior agencies and advocacy organizations. CARA is the state affiliate of the 4.3 million-member national Alliance for Retired Americans.
