At the Oakmont Democratic Club General Meeting on September 23rd, we will analyze the significance of the Recall results and what are some lessons learned. Then we will examine what races will be important moving forward. Larry Martin, who coordinates the Indivisible Out of District Team, will lead the discussion. Indivisible is a nationwide movement of thousands of volunteer-led local groups that engage in progressive advocacy and electoral work at the local, state, and national level. Larry is a member of Indivisible Sonoma County, one of the eight Indivisible chapters in Sonoma County. He has been involved in electoral politics since late 2016. He will discuss his analyses of the upcoming elections in two broad categories:
· The Republicans want to retake the House in 2022. What are the chances it will remain in Democratic hands?
· Can Democrats hold the Senate? What are the chances of doing so? Can we flip even more Republican Senate Seats?
The next ODC gathering will be Thursday, September 23 (6:30 PM Social and 7:00 PM General Meeting) at the East Rec and by zoom. All Oakmonters are welcome.
